Happy June....let the summer fun begin

It's June and summer has hit Chicago in full force. Fresh off her trip to Hilton Head Island, Lily was blasted with 90+ degree weather (not to mention the humidity!) when she arrived back in Chicago. Memorial Day weekend was a quite one, but not without a little outdoor fun. We braved the super hot weather and prettied up our deck by cleaning it up and planting lots of flowers. Lily's favorite part? The little play pool that we set up for her. She jumped right in despite the freezing water that had just come from the hose :) Now the water has warmed up and Lily has been spending alot of time in her little pool. Her nanny even takes her in it while we are at work. It is not quite the same as the nice pool in Hilton Head or the ocean, but Lily likes it just the same. Since she loves water so much, we plan to get a membership to a pool in Glenview and also sign Lily up for swim lessons. More about that later.

With summer already here, Lily has lots of fun plans. She is going to visit the zoo, the aquarium and the children's museum in the next few weeks. Her grandma is also coming for a long weekend to visit. We will be sure to take many more pictures of Lily's summertime outings.

In other big news, about this time next summer, Lily will be a flower girl!! That is right, while in Hilton Head, Lily's Aunt Melissa got engaged to "Uncle" Jon. Lily is very excited to wear an adorable, yet fashionably understated flower girl dress that she is sure her Aunt will take great care in selecting. Note to Aunt Melissa....red is not Lily's best color :)
